Default Battery Wiring Diagram?

Can someone tell me how to wire the 3 wires for a Rx battery. I guess my real question is, where is the "signal wire" wired to on the battery. This is a JR Propo connector. I have a diagram for the connector but need to know where the signal wire goes? Positive or Negative? or ?

Signal wire (Orange) to where??
Positive wire (red)
Negative wire (brown)

Thanks.

It goes nowhere, just that they use the same wire for all their stuff, same with most manufacturers' wires.

It must go somewhere because my charger (charger that came with the Tx) will not charge the battery. The light on the charger will not come on. I know the charger works because it charges my other batteries.

To my knowledge Jetts is right. Most battery wires only have a positive and a negative, even though the connectors are the same.

There is only two wires for the battery.
You may not have the connector pushed far enough in the transmitter for a good connection.

The "signal" wire goes nowhere-take it apart if you don't believe me. You've got a bad connection on one of the wires tha DOES go somewhere.

Empirical testing.......

I have to agree with the others. You only need the pos and neg. I have wired many battery packs, and never connected a signal wire.

If your charger is not charging, check ALL of your connections - the pos and neg connections, as well as the connections between each battery. Also, make sure you're wired correctly

If you are sure that the battery is good (all cells OK) and the connections are all good, make sure that you haven't reversed the charging polarity. I did this once charging an Airtronics Rx pack with a Hitec charger.

On the JR packs I have, the orange wire is tucked into the shrink wrap from the connector, but it doesn't actually hook up to the battery. As Jett said, the orange wire is there simply because that way they only have to stock one type of wire rather than keeping 2 strand and 3 strand around.

Check these things:
1. Use a voltmeter to see if you have voltage at the plug on the battery without havign it plugged in. Is there a voltage reading? No voltage means a broken connection somewhere on the pack which means stripping the shrink wrap to inspect.
2. Check the polarity, for JR, the red should be in the middle.
2. Check the little plastic tabs that hold each connector. As was said above, if the plastic tab is flexed up, the black or the red socket may be slipping in the plug, preventing good contact with the charger pin.
3. Check the socket fit. Use a small flat blade to lift the plastic retainer slightly, then slide the sockets out of the plug. Test fit the sockets on the charger pins one by one (with the charger unplugged) to make sure they fit snugly, If they are loose a light squeeze on the socket body can fix it.

One of these 4 things should get you there. Try them and post again to let us know what you found.
