Just a quick question, I've got a 40 size P-51 I was going to run the antennae through the fusealage in a plastic tube and out the tail end. Should I just run it out of front or would it be ok going through the tube? And how much of the antennae should be out of the plane? Thanks

the plastic tube running through the back of the fuselage is fine. I have done that myself a few time. in fact I like to hide my antenna more often then run it through the top of the fuselage and out to the fin, because I am more of a neat freak and don't like antenna wires messing up the looks of my models.

Use the full length antena. I have built several planes and ran the antena internal like you are. The important thing is not to cut the antena. Also if you are using wire push rods for the elevator and rudder that could cause interfearance with internal antena.
Keep it full length and be careful running it along all metal control wires.

Most WWII warbirds had an external antenna. Look for photos of P-51's to see where they were placed. I've run my antenna wies in scale like locations on a number of planes (externally) and they actually look pretty good if you do it right.
But internal is usually fine as long as your cautious of metal pushrods; and don't "coil" the wire anywhere.
