After a year of long discussions I had made a deal with my girlfriend.

The deal is,

Anniversary:
I buy her a shoe she buys me a Tower Hobbies Gift Cerftificate

My Birthday:
She buys me a Tower Hobbies Gift Certificate

New Year:
Buy a shoe for her and get a Tower Gift Cerrtificate

Her Birthday:
Buy something that is not shoe for her. No gift Certificate for me.

My birthday is coming in 3 weeks so new goodies are coming, have my shoping cart is ready

At least I get what I want intead of a sweater or pants that deos not fly.

Well you got the better end of the deal then Cobra78, one pair of shoes goes to both anniversary and new year!?!

Tychoc, I knew you'd lived in Sweden for a while, but I must have missed that you're original Norwegian.
I went for car holiday in Norway this summer.
Nordkapp, Tromsö, Lofoten, Hammaröya etc... Drove a total of 4700km in 12 days with my small VW Golf

*För vi elsker dette lanne*, Now I know why, it's beautiful!

I guess this is diverging from the original thread, but yes very beautiful country - but soooo expensive[] I was born and raised in Trondheim.

Oh, and the taxes....

Anyway, have fun in Thailand. With that trip you should have quite a credit with your girlfriend

khodges,

Man if you score on a drive thru, you have my admiration!!!

Test 005,

When you`re on that Thailand holiday, if you spend any time in Bangkok, I have a restaurant recommendation for you.

Try Cabbages and Condoms (that really is the name) on Soi 12, Sukhumvit Road. Taxis are cheap, so from wherever you stay to the place will be only a few $$, or you could take the skytrain, even cheaper. There is no better Thai restaurant anywhere in my opinion. The cabbages are fine, but the condoms a little chewy.

Seriously, it`s a restaurant run by the Thai Family Planning Association and they fund their activities from the profits of the restaurant. You may even be able to `enjoy` a no scalpel vasectomy while there!!

If you`re into antiques, drop into Chongkolnee Antiques (two shops), run by an American, Kennor Potter, on Sukhumvit Road around Soi 9 and Soi 10, one each side of the road. He enjoys a chat to foreigners, even if you don`t buy.

Also, if you`re there on a weekend, get yourself out to the weekend market, bus or skytrain, and enjoy one of the best markets in Asia. Grab a copy of Nancy Chandler`s map of Bangkok from any bookstore and check out the sights.

Sorry to go off topic guys, but when anybody mentions Thailand, I tend to run off at the mouth about my favourite country. Great place, you`ll love it.

I generally don't have much of a problem aquiring new hobby stuff. And she never *itches about me golfing either.
However, the "Kommadant" has a more expensive hobby than me....Show Horses!!!! We gots 10 of 'em in the barn!
When you add up the feed, hay, farrier, vet etc., its more than my planes. We did get a hell of a deal last year on an
Arabian/Saddlebred colt. He is a paint/pinto and registered as such including National Showhorse. Wife has been offered
up to 10 grand for him...and she picked him up from a farm in Texas for 1500. Come to think of it, if I ate hay etc., I might
be able to grab more RC stuff!!!!! That horse is super spoiled!!!!

Dave...

Here's how it is for me.
When asked why I build models. I ask the wife, Would you prefer I sat down at the local bar drinking and chatting up other women, or be some where close if you need me? End of story as long as the bills are paid !!!!!!

Bought myself a trip to Thailand for me and the girlfriend anyway...Gonna celebrate my big 3-0 on a tropical beach, drinking lots of beer and just relax for two weeks.
Really good plan, except I'm not sure why you are bringing your girlfriend with you to Thailand The attached pic is of me, at Kho Phi Phi, celebrating the big 4-0. Fortunately, there's no date on the pic
