Default 9c super or Jr 9303 or evo 9

I am in the market for a new radio the 2 radios I am currently looking at is the 9c super and the JR 9303. I am into flying aerobatics. Please let me know out of these 2 radios what would be the better radio. I have been also eyeballing the evo 9 but since no one at my field has that radio I am now unsure if I want it as it is nice to have help from those that are familure with the programming.

Thank you
Rob

Either would be fine for you. I prefer the Futaba myself, but you would be happy with either. What do you fly now? Stick with the same brand. I like the ease of programming in the 9C better. Can't stand programming the JR radios, but once you learn it, it isn't that bad.

I would hazard the JR or the Futaba set. They have buddy box capabilities. The Evo does not as I remember. Recievers for the Evo are rediculously expensive. I personally have a 9C. It is a fine radio. I like it. Lots of features at a decent price. And you have an unlimited amount of planes you can have in memory. Just buy additional Campac's. None of the others have this feature. Having said this I will add that all are great radio's you will love any of them. Choose whichever fits your needs the best.

If opportunity presents, visit your LHS and handle both radios, play with the programming and decide then. It's very easy to go to your local field or hobby shop and "get 7 opinions from 6 guys, because someone will change his mind". Better to handle the radios and make up your own mind.

Thanks for the input I am now narrowed down to the 9309 and 9c super. I really need help with this decision. I have been using seeker receivers so it is not a big deal receiver wise.

Best,
Rob

Don't take this the wrong way, but a65l gave you some great advice. Visit your LHS and try out both radios. See which one you prefer.

Asking which is better, Futaba or JR, is not going to get you much help. It is like asking someone which is better, Republican or Democrat. Or OS vs SuperTigre, etc.

If after trying both out, if you don't have a preference, then buy the cheaper one

I agree but unfortunately my lhs does not have both radios in stock for me to try out. I must say I like the look of the JR9309 over the 9c super. I guess my real question would be if you had a choice and having either futaba or jr receiver was not holding you back what would be the best choice. I am moving up from a tracker II so the seeker II receiver will work for Futaba or JR.

Best,
Rob

In my group of flying buddies there is both a 9303 and a 9C and it is hard pressed wich one has better options, I personally like the feel of the JR and the 9303 is real easy to program, It has pretty much the same feel as the other JR radios so if you pick up one of those it will give you the just of how it feels. The 9C is also great with tons of extras but it does not feel right in my hands so It would be up to you which one is better in your hands, As far as which radio is better I would say they are very close to each other.

Rob,
I have been flying for a long time now and have been waiting to make a fully featured radio purchase.
I have mostly JR equipment but in making this choice. I didn't let that be a leaning factor. What primarily swayed me was the futaba felt a little less solid than the JR to me. The biggee was I discovered that the transmitting and receiving technology is more cutting edge with the JR in that they are the only manufacturer that makes a single conversion receiver. That means that the filtering system in the JR Rx's are cutting edge and contribute to just a little faster response to the servo. A little edge for aerobatics. Research this, Most of the other Rx's have a dual conversion filtering system that is older technology. In my humble opinion, if JR can make receiving technology reliable with one filtering system, it has to be cutting edge. Even the digital servos it comes with are great. The flexibility in programming have more features in software than the 10X. The 10X is expensive and has been around a long time. The 10 channel RX for the 10X is dual conversion. I bought the 9303 and felt I acquired the best cutting edge value. My opinion and research...
