Anyone use and can recommend a good transmitter case. I'm looking to get a case for my two Futaba radios for Christmas.

tower hobbies has the twin case i think for 49 dollars,last time i saw their ad they were at that price[link]http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXL376&P=ML[/link] they also have the threepak cases

Some will recommend those metal cases with the finky hard dividers they sell at homedepot/ lowes type stores but I like the hard plastic pistol cases. The ones I have sold are made by Doskocil and is about 12"X16". It will hold two transmitters and normally is less than $12. Most big sporting goods type stores will have them and I have seen them in the tower catalog in the past.

I was going to get my carpentry cousin to make me one. He had MAHOGANY wood, and was going to do everything for free. That was what I was hoping to get, but I gave up one him. I couldn't ever get in touch with him, I just forgot about it.

I was at a craft so (gosh I hate those things) but I found a guy that does wood burning. So, what I am going to do is have my g-maws friend make a pine box (20x10x5 about) that's about the same look as one you would buy from a hobby store, and then I'm going to send it to the wood burning guy, and have him burn this on the top (at the bottom)!!.......Gosh, I love this picture!

But why don't you find a local person to make you a box out of wood. This way you have something alot different and not like everyone else with a metal looking briedcase like BOX...That is if you could find someone to make this for you. You will probably spend about the same as if you were to go buy a metal looking one from a hobby stop, depending on who you get make it.....Well, here's that picture I'm going to have burnt and colored...

If there is a harbor freight tool company near you they sell VERY nice metal cases that are the exact same size as the $50 ones at tower, except at HF they are about $10.

I just got a large pistol case for $25 or so at a sporting goods store. If you do that, you have to cut the foam to fit your TXs. That Hobbico case at Tower Hobbies comes with uncut foam as well... it shows neatly cut foam in the picture, but the description says it's uncut. I don't know of a neat way to cut the foam. I used regular scissors to cut mine... it looks rather sloppy, but works great!

If you want a case with foam already cut, Futaba has a dual TX case... for about $80! It looks like there are two foam compartments in it ant the TXs stand upright in it...

Pelican is another name to look for. They make some very nice plastic cases for a good price. Sporting goods stores and camera stores usually sell them.

I bought a pistol case at wal-mart for
$8 hard plastic and both mt transmitters fit in it perfectly.

Lowes carries a nice aluminum case with the foam precut in the little pickapart squares. Good rounded corners. Much like the high dollar transmiter manufacturers cases, less the decals. Less than $25.00. Normal stock item. Seems ot be the highest quality of the bunch.

Wallyworld, at Christmas, sometimes stocks a similar case, but many times it has the hard dividers. I would not recommend a case with hard dividers for your transmitter. Most will have the square corners and are not the quality of the Lowes cse. Hit or miss.

Harbor Freight is also hit or miss. If you get one there make sure you open the box and look at it before you leave as it may not be exactly like the display model.

A few things to look for in any case are several layers of foam in the lower section, makes it easier to shape to the transmitter. Room for the transmitter to fit in the lower section without putting undue stress on the gimbals when you close the lid. I like the small squares of pickapart foam for ease of fit. If you wind up with a solid section of foam one of those electirc turkey carving knives does a good job cutting it out. Try several different patterns of placement before you make your first cut. In mine I have one transmitter on the left with my TNC digital tach, digital load tester, servo programmer, current meter, spare fuse, trainer cord, and DSC cord down the right side with protection for all.

We use a plastic pistol case as well... It has that eggsheel type foam and there was no need to cut it

My parents couldn't get a radio case for Christmas, but they said they will get it for my birthday and that's on January 16. So, I might be able to look around and find something else and maybe for cheaper.

Same here but mine was on sale for $4. Never had a problem with it yet. Going on two years.
