I am a rookie getting ready to put together a field box and would like to know the best stuff to buy. I don't really need to have anything to hold the plane as the club I'm joining has a nice set up to start your plane at their field. I know the main items needed but want to get your opinons on the right stuff. I saw a large plastic tool box used as a field box here on RCU that I thought would work well. I just want to know about the best starters, batteries, glow starters, fuel pumps and power panels. I would also like your opinon about any other goodies that I gotta have.

It is common to see such tool boxes used as flight boxes.
I have seen ever thing under the sun used for flight box.
The best startes and the other things you mentioned is going to be based
on selfprefrence. So i wouldnt get hung up on brands. Most equipment
now days is good.
I use tower hobbies products quite abit. Mostly do to the fact
that iam a premier member and get double the warranty on tower products.
I ve had good luck out of tower products.
The only thing that i can say as far as name brand is the electric
fuel pump you use to fuel the plane. I have had several that didnt last
long. The only one iam happy with is the Boxxer brand.

I got a high torque starter in case I went to the big engines in the future, a Hobbico power panel (although the glow circuit crapped out on me and blew out two of my glow plugs before I realized it), a 12V 12Ah SLA battery (lots of juice for multiple field charges of RX and TX batts), MRC Super Brain 969 delta-peak charger, Hobbico electric panel-ready fuel pump, a Great Planes field box, a Great Planes glow starter with meter, some Craftsman hex wrenches (metric and standard), an 8mm socket and driver (for glow plugs), several spare OS glow plugs, big spray bottle filled with isopropyl alcohol, paper towels, power screwdriver, crescent wrench (for prop nuts), extra props, wire cutters...
