Default Do I Need batteries to use TX with a simulator?

Hi,

I´ve bought a Futaba T4YF but it wont come with batteries. I want to know if it´s necessary to have the batteries to use it with the simulator - since a common pc joystick doesn´t need external power source.

Thanks!

Yes, it will need to have batteries for power. You can however pull the crystal out of it when your using it for the sim... That will make the batteries last much longer.

unfortunatly you do need the battery as the controller will not power your transmitter. make sure you either pull the crystal or extend the antena not to burn out the transmitter module in the radio

Buy RealFlight G2 or G3... it comes with a USB controller, made by Futaba, that needs no batteries...

guys, if it takes a usb cord then its got power coming in to it. usb cords have there own power line allready built in. that is why your joystick does not need batteries. it runs off the power of the usb cord. same should work for your g2
