Default Avistar Servo Problems

I just completed an Avistar ARF. After connecting the pushrods to the surfaces I noticed a humm from the servo connecting the pushrod and rudder. I doens't appear that the pushrod is binding at all. Any ideas?? Would reducing the throw help? It appears that they are very sensitive. It is a Futaba system with servos Thanks

Humming servos are pretty normal. If you want to see why, try to click your aileron trim one way then the other and see if the humming stops. Also, I'll grab the servo arm and move it one way or the other (not too hard) and see if I can get the servo to stop humming. I'd stick to the recommended throws in the book. They are pretty good for starting out.

If you are beginning stuck to the throws in the book...my friend has his way maxed out...way too hard to control for a beginner. If you feel comfortable with the sensitivity the way they are, stick with it...of coarse after flying it. If you feel you want a little more control, push the pushrod farther out on the servo arm, or closer in on the control horn.

Hope this helps

Jared
