I had two LT 40's. The first was powered with an OS 46Fx. The second one was powered with an OS 52 four stroke. Both flew great, but I really liked the way the second one flew with the OS 52.
I wrecked the first one trying to roll to low to the ground in windy conditions. Banged up the fuse and wing. Before I could fix it, my wife drove over the wing with our van. (The wing fell off a shelf in our garage. She says she didn't see it. BTW, the wing joint held together, no glass either - just 30 minute epoxy.) I lost the second LT40 in a midair. Totaled the fuse. But the wing is repairable. So eventually, I'll put the the surviving fuse and wing together for my own little Phoenix.

Yeah my wife keeps driving over my planes too. It's weird though, since I keep my planes in the study. The first time was after I came home from flying on our anniversary. Lost another one on her birthday....

ive been flying for 8yrs (off and on) ive taken the last year off and i just ordered an LT-40 which will be here tommorrow. its the arf, since im kit building a piper tri-pacer from mosquitobiteplanes
ive never owned a lt40 ever, so im really looking forward to this
i hope to take out some of the dihedral and possibly turn it into a taildragger, but not sure on that, since i ordered a fults nose gear and big 3.5" light wheels, i fly off of rough grass - so i want to see how this setup holds up.
