Default Prop hole diameter question. Help

I just placed a prop on my saito 82(7mm) and the holein the prop is bigger than the shaft. 1/4 I believe. What do you do to make sure it is centered or can you not use the prop?

strange... I've had to ream every prop for my saito's... are you sure this prop has not been reamed? what prop are you trying to use? If you can find a brass or similar tube with a 7MM ID then you can ream the prop to fit the OD thus making a shim/spacer... too me it's not worth the trouble making a shim out of brass tube to remedy the problem... I'd buy another prop.

It's a master airscrew 14x6 K. I also have an APC 14x6. I'll try it tomorrow.

maybe MAS changed the hole size? I've used 12x6, 12x8, 13x5, 13x8 and 14x6 MAS K series props on my 56,72 and 91 saito's and everyone had to be reamed to fit... I've also used an APC 13x6, 13x8 and 14x6 they also required reaming.

I've made a spacer from a aluminum can and rolled it inside the prop hole that has work for me in the past. 14X6 seems a bit large for the 82, but depends on your flying style.

Dubro plastic spinners come with a selection of backplate spacers to fit every shaft and has worked well on occassions where I have needed to use a drilled prop.

What I have done is gone to Home Depot and get a nylon spacer. Sand or turn it down to a size where it can be lightly tapped into the propeller. Then drill it out to the right size.
