I am looking at moving on to my third plane with a view to flying War Birds ultimately and I would like to ask if the P-26 is a good step, and any acvice from current owners would be welcome.
I was thinking of a 3 cyl Saito up front.

What was your second plane? Which P-26 are you talking about? I have watched one Pea Shooter fly. It looked like an easy flyer. I think it was a KMP brand. [8D]

The P-26 Pea Shooter was thirties fighter by Boeing and was named because the gun sight was a long tube forward from the windshield that resembled a kids pea shooter. It was fast, for its day, and very nimble. The first all metal monoplane fighterfor the U.S. One group had theirs painted blue, red, white and yellow. Very colorful aircraft. With a four stroke radial engine it will be a doll. Narrow NACA cowl and full skirted gear much like a GeeBee R-1. If you want to be in the Warbird scene it's a good start.
