Default Servo anti-vibration mounting?

I've been mounting my servos directly to the plywood with the supplied rubber pads sandwiched between. I have been careful not to over-compress the rubber when doing so. My question is this: Am I missing a real advantage here by not using the brass eyelets? I've never had a servo failure and I run gallon after gallon through each of my planes, year round. By the way does anyone know of a source for inexpensive servo screws? Been grabbing my ankles way too much buying these little screws!!! Thanks

Yes, you need to have the brass eyelets in when you mount the servos. The eyelets go into the rubber grommet fromt he botton (not the top). Place this on you mount and screw from the top. Tighten the screws to the point were is comes in contact with the rubber grommet. If you've been mounting the servos without the brass eyelets you've been lucky that you haven't had a failure yet.

Get your mounting hardware at Micro Fasteners. Great Prices

Hope this helps

RCKEN is right. Try these screws from microfasteners. I've been using them for a while and love them for this and other stuff too. Get their catalog (online too), lots of good stuff. I bought a couple of their storage boxes and filled them with all kinds of their stuff and the prices are great for quality stainless products.

Try RTL Fasteners for your servo screws. They use a 5/64" hex/ball driver and cost $4.85 per 100

I use them and ABSOLUTELY love them.

Unfortunately I don't know an "inexpensive" source for those. Only place I know of is from the servo manufacturer. After you've been flying long enough you will have more than you can use. It's just one of those things that seem to pile up the longer you're in the hobby.

You can get what you need from your hobby shop or at http://www.dubro.com/ See page 41 of the online catalog for no.114, Servo Mounting Hardware.

Microfasteners has more stainless steel products and most of their stuff is less expensive than RTL. Check them both out on-line and take your pick.
