Zurichs are expensive. From the ones I've seen, they are also BIG looking! Don't wanna look like an 80 year old blue hair with these things on!!!

Have you seen the nasty looking glasses that blind people wear? And that cane really sucks too. Sorry for not being PC.
In other words "How much are your eyes worth to you"? I need mine to earn my living every day and never go outside (daytime) without a pair of sunglasses of some sort. This is also under recommendation of my Opthalmologist, even if there is cloud cover. They're your eyes, protect them or damage them, your choice.

Dave...
If you think Zurich's are expensive, you should have seen the clip-ons I have for my glasses. My glasses magnets to moun the sunglass add-ons, and the sunglasses are the same shape as my frames. I love them. Same protection as Zurich's, 2 pairs of clip-ons (one for my car and one for my flight box) $200. and that's not including the original frames and lenses. but as said before, my eyes are definately worth it!!

Zurich has introduced a new, more " stylish " frame shape. If I were about to buy my first pair I`d check them out. As it is, I have two pair of the originals and will continue to wear those.

mrbasss111,

Go to the AMA site and order yourself a "S.A.D." patch (Society of Aircraft Demolishers). I wear mine proudly.

RCKen & BAMAFLY-

Glad to see (no pun intended) you enjoy your vision. Keep it up and encourage others at your field.

Grow long hair to keep the sun out!
Yes... Grow a Mullet... to protect your neck... And use one of those hats that holds two beers in it to protect your face...

Although... I doubt that will help with the "Don't want a Red Neck Look"

HAHAHAHA

Sorry for the loss... I lost my Airplane in the Sun over my head a little while back... Yes I know I should not have had it over my head...

Enough altitude to get away with it though...

Beer is not allowed on my field. Am I allowed to substitute Pepsi (diet of course)?

There are also some younger folks with great peripheral vision where the brim to the side! Yehhhhh! Get dowwwwwwwn! Thats right! Get back up again!

Yep. good ol' Murphy get even the best of us sometimes.

that's why I always recommend sunglasses AND a hat with a brim (Note to some of you younger folks out there that don't know any better: The brim is supposed to face the FRONT to keep the sun out of your eyes!)

The discount comes from NOT earning them.

I assume the NEXstar was purchased more than 60 days prior to your unfortunate mishap. If within 60 days of purchase, and you have not soloed - Hobbico will replace the broken NEXstar. Read the warranty section of the instruction book and the sun may shine on you again.

I know this works as my NEXstar suffered a similar fate. I sent the plane, along with a letter from me and my instructor describing what happen, to Hobbico. They relocated all of the electronics and engine into a new fuselage. It took a couple of weeks turnaround and they even included new tail feathers. This warranty replacement is like skydiving without a parachute - you can only do it once.
