Yes, the motor mounts are what came with it. My thinking is just that these big engines vibrate a lot. My prop and spinner are balanced. With the wing on it is no problem though.

Hey Dave,

Yeh I had to cut the hole in the cowl for the head, it didnt need to be quite so big, but I thought its a hardly a major and that way I have good access to the glow plug without having to use a remote lead, and also helps out a little morewith cooling! Your taking the wheel pants off before the first flight? Interesting my girlfriend keeps pointing out that she thinks the grass is to long on the strip that I use and I think she's more concerned that they are going to snag? still undecided and will do lots of taxi run tests first.
I was going to put the decals on although I just dont really like them and this way I can make it really look different to all the others, and the checkers underneath are for my own benefit - its surprising how even a plane of this size can look so small when doing 80 Kph!! so I put them on purely to help with orientation. Came up alright and am very pleased! I have also noticed (much to my fathers concern) that his little digital camera/video sits absolutley perfectly in the cockpit! Interesting - will definitly be looking into that a little more! Might do some taxi runs tomorrow I think, better take the trainer up for another thrash first seen i havent been on the sticks for a good month or so!

OK,

Had the first flight of the dragonlady on saturday, perfect weather conditions, engine kicked straight into life, a few taxi runs to check if the grass was going to be a problem for the wheel spats, didnt seem to pose any problem! Throttle on, bit of right rudder - along takeoff roll later and it was way! Flies fantastic and look awesome in the sky, had quite an audience! Even a couple of peolpe who had seen it from the road drove in to investigate! I had to run it with my 12x8 prop because i ruin my 13x10, and it is running to quick , it could def do with another inch or 2 in prop size, i might try a 14x8 even? Anyway - Dragonlady 60, with an ASP 91 - Wicked! Go Buy One!!

I did do some high speed taxing with it to get the feel for it. I did this with the wing off to ensure I didn't get off the ground unitentionally. I only did a couple runs, but it didn't hurt anything.

Thanks for the laugh. I always like watching people do this kind of stuff. Most end up wrecking the plane doing it before they ever fly it. Nothing worse than seeing someone run into something with a new plane. At least this way, you won't ding the wing too. That is what they usually do.

Glad to hear the plane flew well RJ. Sounds like a blast.
