bruce, i really would like to be a commercial pilot to be honest, but i haven't even started taking lessons yet. Other than that i have no clue

NONE of the major airlines will hire you without college and 60's (that is what you said you were settling for) will NOT get you into college. There are too many pilots out there who do have the college experience, the airlines don't have to lower their standards. I don't believe you can get in military flight training either.
