I didn't ask to get him banned, or to have the thread removed, so I'm not gloating. I just appreciate the family orientation that this board takes. These moderators are also some of the same people who will help us when we have questions and problems related to RC. Again, thanks for proving that this is the most awesome web forum on the net.

I was not the one who handled this situation, so I won't take any credit, but I just wanted to say thanks to YOU GUYS for reporting unwanted threads.
It's impossible for us to catch everything that goes on here, so we need your continued help in locating offensive behavior.
Anytime you feel something is offensive, just click the "Report" Link at the bottom of each post and it will get our attention ASAP.
Also keep in mind that what is offensive to some may not be to others, and vice versa. So please don't get the wrong idea if we delete or edit one of your posts. 99% of the time we do, it's because someone ELSE reported it, but just as you are thanking us now, we often get wrongly bashed for doing something that we were ASKED to do by other members.

Gee, I don't know. With his 40 years of military flying and his attitude about training, I really got the impression that he had started his career with the likes of Billy Mitchel and James Doolittle. I would hate to think we may have lost out on the brilliant insights of someone that likely knew Eddie Rickenbacker, Chuck Yeager, Bob Hoover and Tex Johnston.
I forget who actually flew first. Was it Wilbur or was it Orville ? And granted Glen Curtiss and even Bleriot had taught themselves to fly. But except for those very few handful of individuals, (and a few that broke their neck), everyone has been taught to fly by someone else. Flying isn't some highly technical skill . And flying isn't some rare tallent reserved for the gifted. Flying is more like a secrete that is passed on from generation to generation. And I believe that flying models is very much like that as well. Sure ,some maybe self taught. But we are here to pass on the secrete (s). Let us not poison the magic of it.
