I thought that scince I have a channel to spare and smokers r entertaining, can I get my O.S.46LA to smoke? I wasnt sure how hot the engine gets and I have a good Idea on how they work. I know there has to be a bit of heat but not sure if I can utilize this technology we call"smokers"

One big issue is weight. If you're flying a trainer, you don't want to add that much weight to the plane. Other than that, this idea has been discussed many times, and I've yet to read about a successful .40 sized smoker--one that really puts out a great deal of smoke as compared to the work and cost involved, and the tradeoff in wing loading.

If you're interested in adding smoke to your plane you need to check out the How-To that RCU member Minnflyer wrote. It does a great job of explaining how to setup smoke system. You can find it at
