I just bought a new Hitec Supreme 8ch. reciever (JR version #RCD3600) to go in a Hangar 9 AT-6. The instructions (if you can call them that) dont say a thing about which channel controls what function. I did a search on this, and after reading 6 pages, didnt find anything. Can anyone tell me which channel numbers correspond to which control function? I'm using a JR XP662 Tx, if it matters. Thanks in advance!!

Hadnt gotten around to doing that yet, but that was going to be my next step if I couldnt find a list of the channels. I did finally find what I was looking for in another post on RCU. Thanks for the suggestions guys.

Plug a servo into a channel and move the Tx controls until the servo moves. Write it down and move the servo to the next channel.

I may very well be wrong, but I don't think the receiver really cares what servo is plugged into which channel. The transmitter sends a bunch of pulses...move channel 1 servo here, move channel 2 here etc. I'm thinking the transmitter is encoding the signal and decides which channel goes where in the stream of pulses it sends to the receiver. All the receiver does it move channel one, regardless of what channel one corresponds to, to the position dictated by the transmitter.
My bet is plug your servos into the corresponding channels as indicated in the instructions with your transmitter.
As I said, I may be wrong... but give it a go. For what it's worth, I have one hitec receiver. I just plugged everything in according to the diagram that came with my transmitter and everything worked fine... the correct servo wiggled when the corresponding stick was moved.

As CP140 suggested Rx's could care less. The difference is in the the TX and different brands definately use different port assignments.
As you mature in the use of your Tx you will know which function plugs in which channel # and it makes no differance what the Rx brand is or how it is marked for aileron, elevator, rudder or throttle etc. if it is not the same make as your Tx.
Piper_Chuck outlined the very simple procedure if you forget what your Tx's port assignments are.
