Tiger 2 CG

Well, I bought a second Tiger 2 after the last "incident" I had with mine. Considering the wood was soaked I thought it might be better just to buy a new one and I could use most of the same hardware, etc from the first plane.
I've had it together for a couple of days now and finally maidened it tonight. Same servos (except for one), same engine, same receiver, same battery pack and same wing.
Everything else was new.
It felt squirrely!! The CG is within the recommended range - even took my CG machine out to the field to double check it. It's just under the 4 inch mark whereas the recommended CG is 3 1/2" to 4 7/16" (I think that is correct on the latter...any way, I am within the range).
It took 15 clicks of UP elevator for level flight so its not tail heavy. I flew it for about 8 minutes getting it trimmed but it does not fly not even within the ball park of my last one. I did a much better job assembling this one than the last one as well.
Any ideas?

Maybe you made a cool "modification" to the first one
Now I understand why it really sucks adjusting a CG once you already have tried once. Tensor 4d has an extra hole through the main vertical, 1/4'' cg range

I understand you are within the C.G. measurement limits, but it sure sounds tail heavy to me. Why not try adding a little weight forward by moving the battery, if possible, or adding a spinner weight to the prop.

My tiger 2 also needed a little up trim to fly level I dont know if this will matter but double check the wing to be sure it is square with the fuse mine was a 1/2 " off Dont bother with a tape measure to check. Turn the plane upside down and use a string to determine if it is square. Hold one end of the string to the back of the fuse and the other end to the outer most part of the aileron. Hold the string firm and move it to the other wing. I balanced mine just a bit over 4"

IMO needing up or down elevator to control attitude would be more related to incidence and/or thrust. Your mentioning the squirrely handling is what prompted my suggestion of your plane being tail heavy. Tail heavy planes are difficult to control.
It is probably worth checking both incidence and thrust. The wing and stab should be 0 degrees and the engine should be 0 degrees down thrust and 2 degrees right thrust.

The plane is fine, flew it today. The difference was this: the new "version" has a lot more elevator so with the old radio settings it was pitch sensitive from hell which led to the bad behavior. After adding in a good bit of expo it's fine. I guess I was over reacting and paranoid
