Brother Chuck, Can we get an Amen! That's my beef exactly! I want to be able to program as many planes as I want, but don't forsee ever really needing more than 6 ch. I think Ken nailed it though, they know what we really need & want, they're just gonna force us to buy some things we don't need to get the ones we want[:@] What can we do though, they know were hooked.[]

dydx,

Why not go with a second hand setup? There is always somebody with one to sell. Just have someone experienced check it out for you before spending the money.

Don't make the mistake I did and tons of other people, when you buy a low end 4 or 6 channel non computer radio. So easy to bump trim settings hauling around and If you get a second plane which you will . You can not switch back and forth easy. I don't know if Hangar 9 stuff is availible in Downunder Land. But it sounds like you need a plane also, Two P51 trainers with JR radios (comp) have showed up at our field and we were impressed...........The evo engine required ziltch break in. Don't go for a LA OS won't be happy with it for a second plane. I am a airtronics fan (good value) RD6000 and VG6000 ,but My POLK TRACKER III for $200 US will be here MONDAY. 99 model memory and 50 channels and will run anyones reciever. They say they have 40 and 36 freq. too. Thats if you want to be different.......Shipping to downunder I heard is pretty cheap now...........

YOU guys pay $10 for a cheap prop in the 40 size were talking about. I'd start a revolt.. Just kidding. I need to fill a couple of suitcases with $1.75 MAS 40 size props and fly to Downunder too sell at your field. I'd pay for my trip and I've always wanted to go to australia.........

So far I have not been assimilated. My 6EXA does everything I need. I refuse to spend $400+ on a high end transmitter just so I can get memory for more planes. The extra features are useless to me. Always have been, and always will be. After this many years, I know what types of planes I enjoy, and while things may change a bit, I doubt I'll ever need more than 6 channels. I'll go buy another 6 channel, perhaps the Hitec when it's obvious that the locking up bug is resolved, or the 6 channel Polk, if they are ever in stock, before I'd fork over the $ for a 9 channel.

Update, decided to go look at the Polk site. The tracker III shows 431 in stock. $200 for 8 channels, synthesized frequency, 99 model memory, synthesized receiver, and a 5 year warranty. Decision time, what can I sell to free up some hobby cash?

Here's my polk update. $207 and shipped quick. I dropped on the floor in the first 4 minutes of ownership ,on way to charger. No breakage. This will not do heli's . Manual a little hard to understand. Charged for 24 hours and did a test. It already saved me $12 on a new crystal. I had a plane I traded for with an expert RX ch 26 in it. Was going to buy a Hitec crystal to try on my airtronics RD6000 which will do the - shift. But I just fired up the Tracker III changed to ch 26 and - shift and worked great . I now can fly any receiver and channel I want. The polk receiver has a full 8 channel slots plus bat and channel switch slot. Worked great. At $70 and no crystal to buy why should I buy a universal Hitec and crystal for $65 and be locked in on one channel. Like Lewis Polk said ( This ain't no $2500 radio) It is meant for 95% of the airplane flyers out there.
