Go with the pretty black engine and let er hang.....I did not mind the open nose on my plane. It is a sweet looking plane no matter what you do to it.

I hope Santa is good to you, with dual servos in the wing and all you can get easily creative with a comp radio.

Mark,

My personal feeling of the stock Venture is it is a bit like looking at Cindy Crawford in a bikini [:-] - only with a big wart on her nose! [:@] Take care of the wart and the Venture qualifies as truly beautiful to look at. With the stock nose it is still great looking but the nose just doesn't do the rest of the beautiful airframe justice.

It's up to you if the extra work is worth the difference in looks. Either way the plane is a wonderful flyer. The Golden Knight Saitos do look sweet too! Don't know if it will hide the wart though.

Personally, I prefer Cindy without the wart!

[:@] Well I got an email back from Bruce, no more Ventures until the end of the year. By then I will back to work with absolutely no time to build it. Now I may have to go back to thinking about an ARF [:'(] Please take a moment to look at this World Models Super Sports Senior 90, I'll put up the pics of all three so you can look at them against each other. Now right off the bat there are noticeable differences obviously, but I also see similarities. Do you think this also would be considered a good #2 type plane? Frustrated beyond repair[sm=confused.gif], but hey at least it comes with a cowl, & World Models are pretty good ARFs, better than others I've done, with fairly good hardware. My Cap from them was very nice with nary a single wrinkle in the covering. It also has detachable 2 piece wings, & stabs, which I really like. Not to fond of epoxing wing halfs together. Anyway let me know what you guys think of this Plane please. Thanks.

If the Senior is a decent price I'd probably go for that one. They have a pretty good reputation from what I have read and they look much nicer than the Four Star. Top it off with the fact that they have a cowl and I'd say it looks like a great alternative. I'd do a search to see what some others have said about it to make sure it sounds like it is what you want.

Thanks FlyerBry, It's not exactly what I wanted, I want the Venture! But the reality is once I'm back to work it will just never get built. If he'd have had another run of kits ready in the next couple of weeks I would have had the time to build it. I'm scheduled to be back Dec 19th if everything goes right with physical therapy, so I've just got a month & a half or so & then it's back to driving truck 70-80 hrs a week. But as you said, it looks like it might be a viable alternative. I could still get the 4* .60, but I really like the detachable wings & stabs as well as the fact that it's a larger plane with a cowl. That's one of the biggest problems I have learning to fly is seeing the orientation of the plane correctly at a safe altitude. I tend to want to fly lower then I'm ready to so I can see it better. My other main obstacle is developing a softer touch on the sticks, they say I look like I'm stirring fudge when I fly! We still have a week or so before the $$$ for this project comes in so I'll wait & see if anyone else has any opinions on it too. Thank you for yours! I do appreciate it.

A little off the plane subject, but what radio do you use? Also I like the look of the supersport senior. When I saw it in MAN it was apealing. Have fun and keep the wheels pointing the right direction.

Dave, Right now the best of the radios I have is a Futaba 6DA. It will do some mixing if I use Ch. 1 & 6 for the ailerons instead of a Y-harness, but no Computer. I'm planning on buying a new Computer Radio in this deal as well.

The reason I asked is beacuse if you could get a computer radio then you can program in some negitive expo. I don't know if you are familiar with that??? If you program in the expo you can soften, reduce the speed of travel near center stick and the farther the stick imputs the farther your travel to max.

This is a great thing for high performance aircraft and will reduce the tendancy to have such things as elevator stall at slow airspeeds and will make the plane less twitchy with little stick inmputs.

I want to get another Venture someday.

Yes Dave, You're right & that is one of the features I need especially till I get better on the sticks. My radio now won't do that. I do plan on getting a computer radio though.
