I used acetone to remove CA from the covering on my plane. It removed the CA, but left a white residue that is almost imposssible to remove. What will remove the white residue without damaging the covering?

My theory is that whatever you are using to rub off the CA is actually just picking it up and moving it around. I have switched frequently the Q-tip or tissue I was using so that there was always a clean surface to absorb the CA. Usually works.

I was going to say i do not love my planes that much, then i noticed you were talking about CA. The best thing you could use has already been mentioned acetone

The white film must still be CA. I've been using acetone to remove excess adhesive from the Ultracote and have no problems with hazing or residue. The acetone works so well, I'm almost tempted to see if it will work as trim solvent for the ultracote. I suspect the problem will be it's high rate of evaporation.

if you use acetone you will be rubbing forever to get all of the CA glue off. It is almost best to just let the glue stay on the plane because it dries clear. ON my shrike I cut the white part out and recovered because it looked so hideous.
