Default Airplane storage hanger?

OK Now I have 2 planes and a heli. I have to clear the planes off the floor so they dont get stepped on. I have a duraplane aerobat 40 and a spad that is the same size. I remember seeing a design for a storage system where you hang the plane and wing goes behind it.

go to home depot and get the metal double slotted shelf hangers that you screw to the wall.you can cut it whatever length you want.get the long shelf supports and use a piece of foam pipe insulation on it to protect the plane.we get 5 planes on a 8ft section.

I have an unfinished basement. I screwed 2 2x4's 5 feet long hanging down from the rafters about 4 feet apart. Then drilled holes 1/2 in diameter about 2 inches deep. First three sets one foot apart, last set two feet apart. Then push 1/2 inch dowell rods, about 2 1/2 to 3 feet long into the holes. Get some type of foam product, I used foam tape used to seal doors, and cover the top side of the dowels.
First three slots hold wings, last slot holds fuses.

I used all scrap wood, the foam tape cost less than $2.00

When you hit the post reply button at the bottom of the page, the reply to message box pops up. Right below the text entry box on the left hand side there is a link that says Click here to upload! Then you get another box that you can select files from your harddrive with.

My shop has exposed ceiling joists, so I just make a loop out of old macrame rope for the front and back, and suspend the planes that way. The rope is soft and won't mar the plane in any way. Glen
