Default Query

What's a 550SH motor? Is it a 280?

I think you should spring for the speed control.

The battery pack you showed is for RC Cars. Probably doesn't matter but I thought it interesting. Keep in mind that a 30 minute charger means you have to twiddle your thumbs for 30 minutes. Also, the one shown looks like it uses AC, so you can't use it at the field.

Finally, any time they say you can use EITHER a six or a seven cell pack that probably means with six it will (eventually) take off and that you really need a seven cell pack.

Budgetting is fine, just make sure you don't end up spending more because you skimped the first time.

More seriously, who's going to teach you to fly the plane? If you're concerned about cost, you really do need to get an instructor. If your $200 investment is ruined in its first moments of flight, you've just wasted your money. Will you have enough to purchase another plane after that?

AMA provides you with insurance if you follow their safety code. I'm guessing you're under 18, so you'd be able to use the junior rate. If you happen to have an accident damaging property or person, you'll need the insurance. Model airplanes in parks draw kids, who don't realize that they can get in the way. Accidents do happen.

I looked around be I didn't really understand what they do beside having a mag, and some comps. Yes I'm under 18 how did you guess. The kids will be an issue, I had like ten kids chasing my Nitro truck asking all there little questions. Any comments on the battery? I don't wanna get off that subject and no one respond to it.

If you're going to order thru Tower hobbies their computer system will have the part numbers of all the items neccessary to finish the plane.

However if your not sure battery you will need or other item maybe you need more research before buying.

Do a search on towers web sight look in the product notes and tech notes more info can be found their sometimes..

Also again this website has a forum dedicated to electrics also I've said this before to check at ezonemag.com all they do is electrics if you can't find the answer on RCU Ezone might have it..

My Airstrike has controlable throttle. So that means it has a speed controller right? Maybe that one can be used.

Hi SilentGTboy,

Can you tell me if you still own the Airstrike plane, and if you might want to sell it for parts.

Let me know.

Heath Canuel email at [email protected].

Thank You
Heath
