Hey all, my dad happen to run into a free plane that has never been flown. The invoice is for the plane is from 1988 and it is called a Thunder Tiger Skylark 40s. I haven't been able to find anything about it online. If anyone has a picture of it, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks all.
Thanks all.

I'm not sure about the "Skylark" part, but I was flying Thunder Tiger Arfs in the late 80's. Your 40s should be a "Shoulder Wing". They made a 40T, which was a trainer, a 40L, which was low wing, and a 40S, which a shoulder wing. Shoulder wing means the wing was on top of the fuselage, but there was no Cabin. Never really liked shoulder wings. Had Ts and Ls. They balanced perfectly with the light OS engine, the FP. Today's example is the LA. You can put a heavy engine on it, like the AX or clones, but then need some small amount of lead in the tail.
They were all good flying planes.

I am in the proccess of re-skinning this plane. It is the Skylark 40T MKII by Thunder Tiger. I am told it is a great trainer. I am gonna ditch my OS .40 GP I got in a box with it and electrify the plane. It has never been in the air and the original skin had holes in it. So, I am gonna restore it in a different color. I have the original box and the instruction manual. I would be happy to help you out if you still have this plane
. Thanx, Scott

My Feedback: (1)
I wonder if that is the same plane that I had as a trainer in 1977. If so, well, it was a great aircraft.
I now have a Goldberg Skylark 70, which I believe is a remake by Goldberg, but larger, that I really love. It truly flys lilke it is on rails. Very nice plane.

I don't think so. Someone else asked about Goldberg. I just believe this was an early version of a thunder tiger trainer. Found later models that were close. Could probably get it in the air but would really like the original manual.

I know this thread is kinda old. I just had about the same expierence. I just got a Thunder Tiger Sky Lark 40H last night. The invoice in the box said 7/11/1986. It is still in the box and the parts are still in the plastic bags and have never been opened. I have the manual, but it is crap. It is beyond basic. It simply states the obvious. I would be happy to copy the manual and e-mail it to you. It is only 3 pages but I will send it to you if you want it. I am sure it is a very similar plane.

Hi
Tha Skylark 40 was one of the first Tunder Tiger ARF.
I restore one recently, and i have to say that fly very friendly and stable, for my better than Eagle 2.
This are some photos of my model. The .46 LA is strong enought To propel rigth

Orono your plane looks nice. Thats a lot better than the crappy shelf paper covering they came with. A buddy bought one of those so he coud get into RC. He was afraid to fly it because he might crash it. He brought it to the field and set it out in the sun where it wrinkled up. I think he sold it to his cousin in law twice removed.
Best Regarts to you too.
