Samolot, You can go to somewhere like Staples, or Wally-world, or somewhere like that & get the little metal box that ppl use in offices & such as index card holders. You can pick one up for a few bucks, cut a small hole in the side of it for the charging cord to come out of & you have a nice little fire-safe box to charge your lipos in.

I use the duratrax ice charger. It's a little spendy, but I'm pretty much set for whatever i want to charge in the future. I got this unit becaue it has a display that graphs the battery taking a charge. Some may say it's hip and cool stuff you don't need, but I find it useful because it gives me a very good indication of the battery condition.
Just recently my dad bought a little futaba 4.8v reciever pack. After slow cycling it 10 times I could only get 50% of the capacity out of it, but even more important the charge rate as shown by the graph was all over the place. I pitched that pack and I'm glad I did, it may have caused a crash. On the flip side I have some GP batteries for my RC car and they charge smooth and steady.
You can also see the difference between the sanyos and the cheap stuff like the panasonic. The sanyo batteries when good take a uniform charge, level off, then the charger detects the peak when the voltage starts to dip. The walmart panasonics I have are all over the place and sometimes false peak because the voltage goes up and down so much.
I'm sure glad I paid the extra $70, it's been a great charger.

IMO, the Prodigy Pro Peak II charger is the best bang for the buck. It can do virtually everything the Triton can for about 1/2 the price. It charges/discharges, cycles NIMH, NiCD, charges Lipo and lead acid (field box batterries). I have one and alot of guys at our field have them. All around best bang for the buck. Here's a link to it at Hobby People.

BTW, it's nice and compact. About the same size as men's bifold wallet.

I have decided on the Hobbico Quickfield DC charger MKII, with the Futaba J TX/RX leads no 9VAP charge wire (says it is not for 9VAP transmitters, what exactly is that?). I have also decided on the Accu-Glo MKII power panel, Hobbico top fueler MKIII panel ready, panel ready locking glow plug clip, Torqmaster 180 panel ready starter and 2 12v batteries with charger. This setup goes together nicely don't it? I like what I have heard about the MKII and I would like to try it, when finances get better maybe I will go for the more sophisticated chargers but for now this will do. Just my 2-cents worth!!!

Yes very nice. When it says that it is not for 9VAP tx's, that means that it is not to be used to charge the futaba 9 channel radio. im guessing they have a different wire used to charge its battery, but for all other futaba radios, the leads will work. By the way, you should have started a new thread.
