So my new JR micro reciever that says it is compatable with Futaba on the side is not working with my Futaba transmitter. Is anyone fermiliar with this? All it does is make all my servos twitch and after 10 or 20 seconds my brushless engine starts going until I unplug the battery. Whats the deal? Need help, thanks.

The Futaba transmits negative shift. A JR is Positive shift.
Someway the receiver has to be changed to work negative shift? Do you have the instructions?
If it is the JSP30615, its supposed to work with Futaba and Hitec only transmitters.
Which transmitter model do you have?
Enjoy,
Jim

Yup, You have to have an adjustable shift reciever. But I've got a deal for ya. I've just switvhed from Futaba to Jr so I have the same problem. I have a HiTech 555 micro receiver for Futaba. If you're interested I'll trade ya for the JR if it's one that I need. Let me know.

I will think about the trade, does the hitech one work with the JR micro servos and all that? The confusing part is the JR micro reciever says negative shift on the box and specificly says Futaba and hitech will work with it? So I have Futaba radio so it should work ya?

That is a quandry, I'm not that informed on it but I know for the most part Futaba & JR are major competitors so they usually make it so they aren't compatible. But if your flight pack says it is for Futaba I guess it should work. What JR receiver model # is it?
Others will chime in by morning that know alot more about these things than I do. But yes the Jr servos will work with my Hitech 555.

My radio (transmitter) is a Futaba Skyport Digital Proportional T4YBF and the reciever is a JR RS6UL 6-Channel Negative Shift. There is a note on the box in white letters stating "Negative Shift- for use with Futaba & Hitec transmitters" well I have a futaba transmitter so that leads me to believe they should work together ya? I hope some people have somethin to say about this because im bummed out right now!

Yea I just went and looked at that receiver, you're right they say it's available in negative or positive shift. Think they just boxed it wrong? I think I'd talk to customer service. They just may have made a mistake or just a bad receiver.

w8ye, Is it possible he has dual conversion xtal in the Tx & single conversion xtal in the Rx. All my Futaba stuff was dual & my new Jr stuff is single super narrow band. Would that create the problems he's having? I'm assuming this is the Mini Funtana from his other thred.

Oh no, I get what your saying. I have a dual conversion crystal in the JR, is that bad should I have a single? Will it not work with a single?

There's your Xtal at Hobbytown Usa, Redmond, Wa. That link is their online deal but ya might wanna try to the store first to see if they have it.

The Futaba Skysport should work perfect with the RS6UL receiver -if- he uses a JR crystal designed for this JR radio.
This receiver will not work with the other guy's JR radio.
This receiver is negative shift only and cannot be made positive shift to work with a JR or Airtronics transmitter.
I can see why this gentleman had trouble.
I read the online PDF manual for his receiver and I looked at the combo outfit he bought and all the individual components. NOWHERE does it caution about using only the correct JR single conversion crystal for this radio or that the radio is even single conversion for that matter. Seems like Horizon missed the boat with their new web site set up?
All this information, I'm sure, has been talked about on RCU somewhere before.
Enjoy,
Jim

I am told the skyport wont work with the JR reciever because the JR reciever is single conversion and I have to send my radio in to be modified for it to work? I have a Futaba Skyport radio and that JR micro reciever (negative shift), all I want to know is what it is going to take for me to use these together? It sucks because now if I buy a JR transmitter I am going to have to buy a positive shift JR micro reciever!!!! AHHH!!! If I bought the JR micro reciever from a hobby shop (it is distributed by Horizon Hobby) will Horizon Hobby take it back as a return? Im in California now and to far from the store I bought it from to return it, plus I bought it like a month ago and just havnt had time to test this all out until now because the cool lithium polymer batteries were out of stock for 2 and a half months!

The only problem presented by the single conversion or double conversion is how the receiver works internal.
It doesn't matter with the transmitter.
What you need is a JR single conversion crystal to go into your receiver.
Call Horizon and ask?
Enjoy,
Jim

Get a single conversion crystal as W8YE says and you'll be off to the races. The trans. will operate both single and dual conv. rcvrs.

Oddly enough I did find the part on the website where it explains their new technology for that receiver & it did state that it is single conversion. But I'm glad he's gotten squared away on what he needs to do.

Thanks a lot for all your help. I have learned so much through everyones posts. As of now I talked to another man at horizon and they are shipping me a single conversion JR specific crystal for the JR micro reciever. Apparently, like someone stated earlier, a JR crystal is needed for the JR micro servo to work. Upon putting that in the reciever the transmitter and reciever should work together. I dont know what some guy over the phone was telling me about sending my transmitter in, the other guy was just as confused as I was! So I THINK I figured this thing out, I should get the JR crystal by thursday and will post back to let everyone know how it turned out. I hope we all learn something interesting from this! Thanks again.
