Default Spraying latex

I would like to apply latex (Sherwin Williams) with a spray gun. I have a gravity feed HVLP gun and thined the material as much as 50/50 but cannot avoid the material coming out in large droplets(spatters). I have tried various air preasures as well as volume adjustments. What am I doing wrong?

Just do a search and you will find several threads on the topic, I used "spray latex" as the search term and this is one example of the results. [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_3704624/anchors_3704624/mpage_1/key_spray%252Clatex/anchor/tm.htm#3704624]LINK[/link]

Thank you for the tip. I am kinda new here and your suggestion gave me some new direction with the forum.
I found a lot of answers to my question.

My experience with epoxy and latex is that it needs to set a little bit after the thinner is put in and then stirred again before spraying to keep the mixture even.

Enjoy,

It sounds like the paint is not thinned enough. I normally thin latex to a consistency about halfway between milk and cream. I have had my best results at 25 - 30 psi.

Here is a little "How To" on painting with latex.
