So I need some experience in 3-D R/C plane flying and am wondering the best computer software to practice. I want something that most closley resembles my Mini-Funtana flight characteristics so I can practice on the computer. Anyone got any suggestions? I have the cord to connect my controller to my computer via usb (I actuialy have the Real Flight R/C simualtor that came with my NexStar Select but I lost the CD key for it) so I am all set there. I just need something that is realistic to practice with before I go out to the field! Thanks!

I think you'll find this to be the Ford vs Chevy debate between Real Flite G3 & Aero Fly Pro Deluxe. Both have pretty good 3D capabilities. I don't know if they have the Mini Funtana exact model by E-Flite. I can't say which is better because I only have Real Flite G2, but between the available add ons & the Real Flite free download page I can get just about any plane I want or something very close in flight characteristics.

I was just looking at the Aero Fly site. Once you buy it, they have 600 free downloads of other models & different set-ups that othe ppl have created that you can instantly download.
On the G2-G3 download page it will only give me planes that have been created with different set-ups by other ppl that I allready have. In other words if I want to download some guys version he made of a 40% Edge 540, I have to have an Edge 540 in my models. Which for me required buying add-on volume 4 to get an Edge 540, now I can go down load any Edge that some else has re-created.
I think if I were gonna go out & buy a sim, it would be Aero Fly Pro Deluxe. I have G2 because Real Flight sent it to me for free because NexStar is incompatable with G2-Lite which is what I originally had that was given to me by my Dad.
So my vote is for AFPD, no add ons to buy & 600 free downloads, 3D foamies too.

Actually I bought AFPD for the same reason elanasgrumpy is talkin about. all the free downloads. So far I have found three, THREE stinkin downloads that work. Whenever I try to download somethin it says "Windows cannot figure out what program created this, cannot download" and only ones that specifically say "for afpd" work. If your computer does not say this then by all means get AFPD. I think it's better for 3D. But if you look on the Nexstar cable it says "Compatable only withRealflight NexSTAR Edition" so it wont work on any other sims.I tried it. If I were German I might be able to get more downloads because I found about three download sites with maybe 150 downloads on each but they were completely GERMAN!!!!! ARGH!!!! anyway thats my 2 cents worth.
