There is a lot more to do than just go straight and left right/back. You can make a huge ramp/ various jumps and mess with it. You don't have to compete to have fun with cars. The term is called bashing if you don't already know. You do a line of big jumps and just beat your truck/car. I will probably get a plane later.

I think you need to make a visit to your local club and have someone let you fly a trainer with a buddy box and see how you like it, you will get the plane now, instead of later. As previously said there is no better thrill than seeing your plane that you spent countless hours building, leave the ground and fly, cars can't give you that. No ramp needed to go up!
