Well, I just finished enlarging the elevator. I added3/4 in. to each side and added the width of my straight edge (a little more than an inch) to each end. I am going to add the straight edge width to the end of the rudder and 3/4 inch to the top. Also I know you guys say it takes skills to have a good dirty, cluttered workspace so I must have MAD SKILLZ[sm=bananahead.gif][sm=biggrin.gif], here are some pics of mine
. This has been a really fun build! The SSE is a really fast build, even for a beginner.I encourage anyone reading this thread and thinking about getting an SSE to go immediately to your LHS and buy one!!
P.S. One week left of school!! YAY!

Build seems to be going well but about that bench? Well, it still needs some work. I can still see the bench top in some places and all of the glue bottles are upright. Gonna need to improve on that if you want "master builder" recognition.
In general it still looks too organized.

No, actually if you look in the top right of the last pic you can see a bottle of epoxy tipped over onto the timer

I've seen your bench Ken. You must have an extremely orderly mind as your bench is presently declared a disaster zone and subject to a FEMA grant.
Ya got the nerve to post a picture of what it looks like today Ken?

Ken, all I can say is, CHEATER CHEATER CHEATER!!!

You cant put planes up on a stand. That gives you less chance of mauling your plane with stuff, therefore letting you clutter it up more. Also i would like to point out that you watch Dr. Phil[:'(][:'(][:'(] AND use Airtronics. Thats two major problems.
AND another thing, this is my temporary shop, I cant clutter it as much because I will soon have to move this junk upstairs to my now UNFROG (UNFinished Room Over Garage) soon to be FROG (Finished Room Over... well you get it
) I am converting my ROG to an airplane room. Then my planes wont be stored in an...Oh what was it?...Oh yeah!...GARBAGE DUMP...and not to mention any names but...BRUCE!!!!

So look for my next build to see a real clutter!
You should see my room!! Boy is it dirty! Ok, Well no building tonight. We'd better let Ken get back to Dr. Phil
...dont want to miss anything.

Well Parrot, here are a bunch of pictures. For the fuse doublers i did use woodglue and for connecting the elevators I used epoxy per the instructions. The rudder I added 1.5 in. to the end and 3/4 in. to the top. Now how much do I cut out the elevator so I can get increased rudder throw? I'm hoping that my dad will give me a loan so I can buy the engine, I need another 60 bucks (not begging here just commenting
) the firewall is the next step so I need the engine. Also need to get thick CA to glue in the blind nuts. Is it better to use this than epoxy? I also need to pick up a Sullivan tailwheel. I am thinking I will add triangle stock to the rudder and elevator but I just realized that then the LE will be to short so I will have to glue another piece to the LE to lengthen it, oh well they are already too short. The right side of the elevator and one fuse doubler (the one with the paint and fuel on it) are drying right now.

That's a lot of mass on the rudder there. Unless you're planning on using a really heavy engine, you might want to lighten it up a bit. Not that it's a lot of weight, mind you. But every little bit that far behind the CG means you need about 3x that much up front to offset it. Otherwise, the build looks good.

Well, I planned on grinding lightening holes in the rudder and elevator. Was just looking to see if I could fit a GMS 1.20 in there
. Its about 2 millimeters too wide. So I'll stick with the .76 which is 19.4 ounces without muffler.
