Mike your 100% right, and that's what we do, but every once in awhile you get Mr. ego that knows better. Like I said once a month or so, especially after Christmas, guy find our club on the Internet, show up and insist on flying it themselves, If they don't have AMA we either put em on a buddy box or they can go home. We aren't being mean, we not being uncivil, or unreasonable, we've lost enough fields in our area, we now have a great site but is really close to the highway and are not going to loose the site to be nice. Weather they want to understand or not is up to them. most want help and are successful. the few who refuse help are not.

Hi there all,

When it comes to Mustang I always wanna share my experience, as Im a newbie, I got a P51 Mustang PTS of Hangar 9, its a beautiful good warbird trainer with droops at the wing edge, airbrakes and lowered fixed flaps. I flew that plane first time with an instructor couldnt handle it, got better after couple of flights, as with this combo, I had a flight simulator of cockpit master which has alpha trainers and mustang, I got good experience on it. I make my story short, due to a lot of people senior flyers insisted on to get high wing trainer, I got one switched servos, engine everything on that by myself and flew it very well, but had hard time in landing, broke many props, and nose gear but last time its wooden engine mount broke, so I got little sluggish and re-assembled my mustang. I flew it, and flew nice, but eversince from the start, I had problem in left aileron as Y-harness seems to be ok, but the connector of left aileron played up, so I always flew it with some instructor standing next to me. I did many solo flights on my trainer, and I did my 5th solo flight on my trainer, I landed it ok, and it flew so nicely. Well, as u cannot say anything about anyplane no matter how expert you are, I did second flight of mustang, it took off very nicely, suddenly it took a left drag, I gave right aileron it didnt respond it took a sharp nose dive and crashed, well, my heart cried, but couldnt do anything, well, but I never flew it without any instructor, I always had somebody standing next to me, people at my field told me that switch to other planes from high wing after 2 years, I wont say 2 or 3 years I would at least say 1 year, as we are only sunday flyers. High wing are really safe and stable, and when u lose a beautiful baby like mustang, heart really crashes with it, but what I experienced, always have persistence, perseverance, and patience, these 3PS are best for the flyers, and in assembling the plane do your own experience, but in flying always have somebody with you, a very seniour flyer lost his extra 300 during torque roll, things happen, either human error or mechanical or electronical, well my receiver is not working as well, having it diagnosed, I hope it would work. Best thing, buy cheap high wing, and naturally they are easy to recover, but warbird babies, are things for later use.

I wish you all have good flying with crash

Mody
