hey there i need some help. does any body know how to make a homemade glow clip that would fit on a cox 0.49 sure start

FYI, one of the clips (usually negative black clip) can attach anywhere on the motor and , of course, the other one attaches to the tip of the glow plug.

should be instantly hot . COX should still make their glow plug clip, thats what we always used for our .049 planes. clips work fine in a pinch though.

It should glow an orange color. "Heavy duty" batteries are about the weakest out there. Pick up something like one of these: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXL368&P=ML , it will last much longer. Note, I just showed that one as an example. You should be able to find one locally at a dept store.

Make sure it is the 1.5 volt and not 6 volt lantern battery. A lantern battery will fry that glow plug faster than you can order a new one.

There's a little wire inside that's coiled like a spring. This should glow.

On that Cox motor there is an open port in the side. if you look inside, with the piston down out of the way, you will see a bright glow inside. It will look alot like a car cigarette lighter.
