Tower Hobbies #1 Super Saver Club: Join Now!
Enjoy exclusive benefits like FREE shipping on your orders of $150 or more, private member-only R/C web specials, additional mailings with hundreds of hot, member-only specials, new item savings, coupons and informative R/C newsletters. As a bonus, enjoy a FREE 3-month subscription to Model Airplane News, R/C Car Action or Boat Modeler magazine! Join the #1 Super Saver Club today--the savings are GUARANTEED!
Dan, go to Tower's website for more info. Personally I find it puzzling that Omni Hobbies, also owned by Tower, ships free for orders over $100 (as do others) without having to join/pay anything.

Hi again Dan.
Thanks for the kind words.
I would like to add that I am a Super Saver Club member and buy much of my stuff from Tower. But when I joined, the magazine subscription was for a year, not 3 months as it is now. That fact alone made it seem worth the $30 fee. If you think you that most of your orders will exceed $150 then you can do the math and decide for yourself. The coupons and flyers are rarely worth the paper they're written on. Mostly $1 off items.
I will say that when Tower offers its $15 discount on orders over $150, plus the free shipping, it is possible to save some money. But I don't think I'll renew next time.
Lastly, I'm not sure free shipping applies at all to our Down Under Brethren
.
Good Luck.

damn, us aussies always get screwed when bying products for non major sports in the world e.g. swimming cricket athletics
it a bit of a bummer this and whitewater canoeing products (both my sports) are made in america and not europe.
Oh well have to fork out a bit more cash. Thanks for the help everyone.

When I joined the Super saver club a year ago I joined for 14.99 If you get your order all together and then go through checkout it should offer you the club membership for 14.99. It is well worth it if you are going to make several orders in the next year since they do have many member only sales and offer many free items plus the savings on shipping. Of course this is my opinion but I did spend about 6 grand at tower last year. SHHHHH don't tell my wife.

Dandaman,
go to www.radiomodels.com.au
although they do not have the huge range of some of the american websites they are stationed in Perth. I emailed them and asked the approximate shipping cost of a Trainer steup with radio, engine etc. to Melbourne and they said it would only be about $25. (and that was for air!) If they have what you are looking for i think you would save time and money on the shipping, and because all prices are in AUS$ we dont have to put up with our dodgey exchange rate!
Oh, make sure you sign up for the VIP site it doesnt cost anything but the pages look better. I think they make it that you have to sign up because their servers cant handle everyone on the "good looking" pages at once or something like that.

The thing to do is to team up with a couple of your buddies and aggregate your orders so you always hit the $150 order level and can routinely get the free shipping and the $15 off. Of course, that doesn't help you much in Australia
If you are in the US or Canada, the super saver club CAN save you money, but you still have to be a savvy shopper to make sure it does.
