Fuel Lead Question

Ok please help, I am new to the hobby
I have built my first plane, just got a quick question regarding the fuel tank. It have three pipes exiting the tank, one for the silencer, carb and one to fill the tank. This is the one I am having problems with, If I fill the tank with this lead how do I stop the fuel comming back out. I know it might seem like a daft question but the instructions give no mention of where I install this... Please help

Personally, I would not use the third unless I was using a fuel dot or fueler valve. The fuel dot and/or fueler valve are designed in such a way as to prevent fuel from escaping or leaking from the system.
My suggestion - don't use it without a fuel dot or fueler valve. If the third lead does not have a hole in it (completely sealed), just attach fuel line from the lowest nipple to the carb and a fuel line from the higest nipple to the muffler (silencer). To fuel or drain with this type of setup is all done using the line to the carb. Just pull the line from the carb nipple and attach it to the line from you fuel jug.

Thanks for coming back to me so quick, yes you are right it all starts to make sense, yes there were 2 holes in the rubber, carb and silencer, the third was not open, but I followed the instructions and I pushed the pipe through the rubber. The plane is a Ripmax Nova 40 -
I will have a look for a fueler valve, thanks again for your help. the last qustion is where do I install this pipe. Is it ok to leave it loose inside the plane...???

yes you can leave it loose in the plane,just be sure to cap the end or you'll have fuel every where,and the tank will not whole pressure from the muffler.

thanks for the reply, rather than leave it hanging loose in the plane is there any where I can have it fitted to the plane so that it pokes out of the side of the plane and if so where would you suggest I fit this

Hi Flybybooth, over the years I have switched to the fuel dots, sooner or later the other fuelers leaked or parts came up missing. Must be a half dozen fuel dot makers on the market,they all work good. I usually mount mine close to the cowl on the opposite side of the muffler.Once you see the dots you'll see how easy they or to mount and use.

Take a good look at the rubber stopper. If it only has 2 holes, then it can be situated so that it is covered by both the front and back plates. This keeps fuel from leaking out of the extra 2 holes in the plates. Then, if you can access the fuel line to the carb without major effort, I would just fuel it by pulling the fule line off the carb. To me it seems much easier than messing with fueler valves and fuel dots. As mentioned already, fueler valves become another maintenance area and potential leak area.
The valve that is pictured is a fuel filter that contains a very small mesh screen. This is used to keep junk out of the engine. I fuel directly from a gallon jug of fuel and have one of these filters inside. I also have a fuel filter spliced into the fuel line between the tank and the carb. I make double sure that I keep the trash out of my engines.
Below is a pic of the fueler valve I use to use.
Now, I prefer to just pull the fuel line from the carb and fuel it. this way, I don't have to worry about leaking or sticking valves.
By the way, what brand of fuel tank are you using or going to be using? Maybe if I can take a look at it I can give you more accurate information.
