What are we better off here in Florida as far as glow plugs? A3 or #8 OS or what?

The choice of glow plug is related to the engine you are using, not to the climate it's being used in. Read the manual. When all else fails, go for the #8 if it's a two stroke. Four strokes need hot plugs--OS F, or H9 super plug for example...

Thanks for the advise, reading the tech note of each one the difference is that the A3 is cheaper than the #8 basicly! $2 difference.

G'day Mate,
Remember you get what you pay for! The A3 is cheaper because it is a plated element plug, & will generally not last, because the plating comes off, or perform as well, as the OS 8.

just ran my OS 46AX with the #3 stock plug and had a stutter when throttling up, changed to a #8 and runs smooth you get what you pay for applies I didn't think it mattered until I made the change .

So far, and mind you I am fairly new at this, every #3 plug I have used has burned out after only a few flights, #8 I have had no problem at all with.
Skeeter- try a search here and see what you can find http://www.modelaircraft.org/clubsearch.aspx

I fly out of Markham park in broward, there is other down in dade and like 4 private airfields that I know off.
I will take the advise and have a couple of #8 handy for when the A3 quits! Thanks for the answers.
