Anyone know of a good link or other reference that describes the basics of RC flying? For example, how to keep the nose from diving in a turn, etc. Thanks.

Default New flyer

First I would like to welcome you to a wonderful hobby. I have bee flying for one year now, and it has been great. I have to tell you I started out with a Hobbico superstar 40, my second plane was a Hanger 9 Ultra Stik 60 (great plane). My third was a Great Planes Spacewalker (Hanger Queen No fun). My third is a Model Tech Magic Extra 300, this plane is a hoot and I am still exploring the possiblities with this plane.

So I guess what I am saying if you get hooked in the hobby it is very addictive. The following is my suggestions from a semi newbie to you.

1 - Hook up with a good club in your area. If you go out with a new plane most of these guy's will jump at getting a chance to train you.

2 - Look at all the planes at your field, and ask questions even if they are "dumb". Most flyer's love to brag about their planes, and are willing to answer any questions.

3 - Try to fly with as many different trainers as you can
(if you have your AMA that is no problem). I have found no two pilots fly the same, and you can learn something different from each of them.

The first two links here are pretty good,

http://www.wwcn.org/~grit/faqs/airmodelsfaq.html

but the North Dallas RC Club site was the best for me.

Best of Luck,

Jimmy
