Please stop raining

Fall is here and either it is raining or it is sunshine and 10-20 mph winds with 15 to 25 mph gusts. I would give just about anything to get at least one good day a week to fly before it gets to cold here in Wisconsin. I keep hoping.

ABELL,
A couple of months back, when I was a "noobie" (being a pro now with 4 whole months of experience, Ha Ha!) Angel, one of the jet pilots stood out on the runway with me and held an umbrella over me and my radio so that I could fly on a day that the drizzle never quit all day long while he talked me through approaches and touch n go's. Then last month we went through a tropical storm and they closed the park and field for two days for that. I was out there the day before it closed, and the day it reopened...am I hooked or what?
And a couple of weeks ago I sort of landed a friends glider in the middle of our field that had turned into a marsh after days of rain...yikes![X(]

Bev - when we got home from the show it started raining and rained all night. Being at the air show all weekend I was not able to fly. The next afternoon My son and I went to our field and was disapointed at all the water standing in the runway. I looked at it and thourht -Why not? I got the ole Hobbistar 60 out ,put the wing on it, fueled it up, done all my checks, fired it up and taxied out and took off. It was bad slow getting speed enough to take off in all the water. It looked more like a boat than a plane but I was air borne. Ben , my son said, KEWEL DAD , put the wing on his Tiger 2 and done the same thing. We spent about 3 hours parting the water. It was a good afternoon for flying
