FM and PCM difference?
Hi, I own a JR 6102 Tx, I want to buy a flight pack but I have the choice between FM and PCM. What's the difference? And how can I know wich one my Tx uses?

If you see "PCM" on your transmitter, then you can choose either. In your case, I would recommend the Non-PCM receiver.

pg 58 explains how to change modulation types. If your transmitter will not allow you to select PCM then it is an FM only transmitter.
An FM flight pack will work with either type transmitter as long as you select the proper modulation on the transmitter.

Read your manual, it will tell you how to set it up for PCM, in the system menu Modulation Section, page 26, JR uses SPCM, & that is the way to go, you won't regret it, small extra cost for PCM, but huge advantages over PPM.
Lots of guys will tell you different, but if you go to a pattern or jet guy, he will usually only use PCM. So if it is good for them why not use it too.

While on the subject of the JR 6102... for the fifty bucks it is up the price ladder, a lot of bang comes for that $50. As well as the mentioned modulation choices, it offers a lot more models, and enters the world of mixes and exponential. The settup scheme is also friendlier than the 631.

I have one and I really like it! I would love to have the 9303 but for the price, the 6102 is one of the best bang for the buck transmitters out there IMO.

That's the point, you can't get that with normal PPM.
