Hello,
My first plane (Thunder Tiger 40) is about 90% complete. I bought the TT Pro .46 for it. I purchased a 4 channel Futaba radio and it should be here on the 15th. I have a couple questions on getting it set up for its first flight.
How do I fill the tank? I know I need to pump the fuel in, but do I unhook the tube from the carb and use that or do I need to put a T-connector inside the fuselage and fill it like that?
How does the glow plug get hot? Does the reciever have a hook-up for it?
What is the easiest way to prime the lines and engine?
The instruction manual was a little vague on a few parts. If anyone has put together the Thunder Tiger 40, can you tell me if you were able to get the fuel tank into front part of the fuselage. I put mine right in front of the servo tray. The only way to get it closer to the front is to turn it on its side. I didnt think that would be a good idea, so I left it right side up, in front of the servo tray.
Thanks for your help in advance!

Kevin,
There are three clubs here in SPI and each one has some designated instructors. I would highly recommend the one I had, or you can meet me and some of the other flyers at the field.
We'll go over the model with a fine-toothed comb, checking the control surfaces, setting up the throws, looking at the fuel tank situation, starting the engine, breaking it in, etc.
I tried this on my own a few years ago, and destroyed a couple of expensive planes. It wasn't until I met up with an instructor that I really started enjoying this.
I've got four planes now, two of them are flyable. The others need a few repairs after a few months of flying. I'd be more than happy to meet you, and bring along some of the best pilots in Illinois, to help you out.

Sounds great Brian. How, when, and where can we get together. I've got the itch. I've mastered RealFlight and am ready to try my hand at real live action.

Actually, you can tell that the weather is being a little uncooperative right now. For you to have a successful first flight, the winds need to be less than 10MPH. (no gusts)
We'll keep an eye on the weather. I would say this weekend we could try, but I may be building a Sukhoi. If you want to enhance that itch, you should take a look at RCAVI8TER's planes.
Check out this thread. This was done a couple of weeks ago.

Do you have the AMA membership? The reason I ask is that my primary club has to submit the paperwork before we're covered for training non-AMA members.
Send me an email and we'll see what we can put together. Plus we can talk "offline" about it.

Jumpwake Welcome to the wonderful world of RC flying. Brian sent me a PM that said we have a new pilot in the area. Brian and myself will be at my house working on planes this weekend and you are more than welcome to come over and we can go over your plane and make sure it is ready to go in the air. We can also run the motor and let you know what all you need to make things succesful for yourself. I just have one question. Where did you buy your equipment? Not to many people deal with ThunderTiger around here. I personally love there motors and have built about 12 of there trainers.

Hello,
I've been anxious to get into RC planes for about 10 years and just now decided to jump in. I bought most of my equipment from Tower Hobbies. I've been to Hammer's to pick up some miscellaneous stuff. Hard to beat Tower's rebates and prices though. I've done quite a bit of research the past few months and decided to go with TT over OS. Not sure why. Maybe I just like the name. Can't wait to meet you guys and start learning the trade.
