how about using a "bobble" head........the kind like ppl put on the dashes of their cars....IF you can find one you like.

just a quick thought.

i've seen everything from G.I. Joe to barbie to spongbob squarepants installed as a pilot.

The newer version of the Willaims Brothers plastic pilot's busts have the head seperate from the shoulders. I have seen where you would install a rod throught the sholders and into the bottom of the head and make it move by hooking it up to a seperate servo or the rudder servo. Works real well and looks good to. Good Luck, Dave

i think you could make one out of almost any pilot head/shoulders combo.use a paper clip drilled through the body and attached to the head,a little bit of soldering to that and connected to any servo.i have seen one with a hand that salutes before takeoff.just a thought...........

Ditto what David said. I've done the same thing. I used a Williams Brother's pilot, a wooden dowel glued to the head thru a hole I drilled thru the bottom of the head and the center of the bust where the head rests. The dowel is inserted thru a hole drilled into the cockpit floor under the bust. Just beneath the floor, I glued a servo arm, of which the center hole is reamed out to the diameter of the dowel, to the dowel itself.

Once the pilot bust is glued to the cockpit floor, the dowel doesn't move laterally, only radially about its center. I attached the rudder servo arm to the bust's servo arm with a pushrod and clevises. Works like a charm!

Good luck with it.
