Can anyone explain how to use it ( IOW how to make it work on a PC ) ?
I opened it with an evaluation version of Win Zip ( Do people really pay for that? ). Then what do I click? I get a bunch of codes etc. I don't know what to do next.

Use WinZip and extract all of the files in a folder and double click the "Setup.exe" file to have it install on your PC.
As for WinZip, I don't use it - I use [link=http://www.7-zip.org/]7-Zip[/link. It is free and has more options and is also compatible with .zip files.

I did not see any add-in for Internet Explorer - do you mean Windows Explorer? If so, WinZip does the same thing. For example, you right click on a file and have options to add to a zip file, etc.
To each their own. I have used both and prefer 7-zip.

Ok, too many people still think they need to download a separate program to extract zip files. If you have Windows XP you can create and extract zip files directly in Windows Explorer without having to get an extra program. I can't even begin to tell you how many of our clients don't know this little fact, and some upset after they actually paid for a copy of WinZip.
Anyway, if you have Windows XP use Windows Explorer (or My Computer) and navigate to the zip file location on your hard drive. Right click on the file name and select "Extract All". This will open up the zip file extraction wizard which will walk you through extracting the file. Once you have the contents of the file extracted then you can run the setup utility which will install the program to your computer.
Hope this helps

what RCKen says plus...........
And you don't even have to extract anything to see what's in the zip file or work with the enclosed files in one. Just go into it like you'd go into a folder. I find this capability as much value as having XP do the extractions.
