Default 6v power systems

I think that I wold like to use 6V power in the next plane. Will a standard 6 channel futaba reciever handle 6V and all digitsl servos. I will have one battery for the ing on the engine and another for the RX.

Thanks

Hi!
Of course! We have used 6volts for years in our R/C models.

Regards!

farminred,

6 volt batteries will be fine for your RX and servos. Digital servos draw current all the time so you will want to get a high mah battery. I prefer 2700 Mah myself. That way I don't have to worry about the digital servos discharging the battery. Some of the older electronic ignitions are only rated for 4.8 volts so you are going to want to check and see what your ignition system is rated for. Too much voltage and you will fry the ignition.

2700 is fine, but Waaaaaay overkill for a smaller .40 - .90 size plane...

I use 1350mAh NiMh batteries and get several flights in between charges

in that case... the bigger battery would be better...

by the way 6v make your servo`s stronger if your using hi torque`s they usualy add 1 or 2 kg of torque to them.

I'm using a 6V 2000 mah in my FuntanaX 100. The radio is a Futaba 7 CAP PPM /PCM. The receiver is a 7 Channel PCM. I think this should be enough for a few nice flights.
