Probably better than nothing. I can[t imagine that it would hurt anything.

I would say no.
Is it petroleum based?
If it is then definitely not.
Try a light machine oil.
Air tool oils work good too.

Some good alternatives for after run oil are, Rislone (in the yellow can), ATF, any air tool oil. Some that are better than nothing but not quite so good are Marvel Mystry Oil (Marvel Mystry Air tool oil is very good), sewing machine oil and gun oil. The latter two are much to thin to do much good.

Just watch what you use as it may attack the carb O-ring seal. The OS .46 AX manual states not to inject after run oil into the carb, but through the plug hole instead.

From the Morgan Fuel Website (Omega)

No!

Most of our flyers don't use any after-run. Petroleum based "after-run" oils do not mix with methanol-based fuels. So,we definitely don’t recommend any petroleum based lubes. Our built-in after-run oil is one of the most universally recognized features of our fuels.

If you think ATF and Marvel's Oil are not petroleum based go look on the warning labels.

I may be wrong! But I don't think it matters if it mixes or not. A few rev's and it comes out the pipe mixed or not. It may be different if you fill the cranckcase up but, a few drops, enough to coat the innards should not matter. Like I said I may be wrong but, thats what I think, for now!

I have never seen anyone at our club or one of our flyins ever use after run oil, as fas as I am concerned it is just something else the hobby industry has to offer to those people that deem it necessary,,whatever fuel is left in my engine after flying has been enough protection for mine...Rog

the only time I use a after run oil is when I am not going to fly for a while and mostly just a shot or 2 of WD 40 works to keep the moisture out the most important thing to do is run your engine dry at the end of the day so you don't leave any fuel in the case to attract moisture

What Morgan Fuels is trying to tell you, it's what happens to those substances while the engine is not in use. It's the interaction of unburned fuel with petroleum based products that can cause rust and corrosion. And you are right, the stuff goes out the pipe, but the damage may be already done.

it says on their website that Maxima Castor 927 is refined castor and can be mixed with alcohols...

Castor 927 is a unique blend of highly refined castor oil, a specially prepared synthetic and an additive system that reduces carbon and gum formation and provides excellent rust & corrosion protection. Castor 927 also contains an exclusive additive that keeps power valves cleaner and working properly. For all of us that wish to keep our air and water cleaner, Castor 927 is biodegradable. Castor 927 keeps on lubricating; where other lubricants turn to carbon or vaporize, and provides extra protection on cylinder walls, bearing journals and other critical areas at temperatures much higher than other lubricants.

Your engine will not be going through any of these conditions in storage.
I would not use this product as an after run oil.
