Default Using Hitec S with Futaba J

Can I use Hitec "S" servos with a Futaba "J" reciever? What about Futaba "J" servos with a Hitec receiver? I think the problem is the plugs don't match. Is there an "adapter" available? THANX!

You can use any servo with any receiver. You will just have to make sure the wiring is correct. Please use the attached diagram as a guide for doing this.

Note that you should not swap control arms between brands. I believe a HiTec arm fits a Futaba, but loose enough that it will chatter and slip under load.

You'll find that to use the Futaba servos with the Hitec RX you will probably need to remove (file/cut) the index tab from the outside of the plug. After this just be careful not to install the plugs backward. No damage will occur but they will not run and it may confuse you briefly. Also only use the correct screws to hold the output arms in place. Using the wrong arms may damage internal parts.[:@]

Ken,

That's a handy dandy little diagram, thanks.

One thing you do need to watch for is that some servos turn in opposite directions compared to others with the same inputs. This can actually be a benefit in some instances.
