Default Lower to upper aileron pushrod placement

I have built from scratch a foam Untimate Bipe and I am having a hard time figuring out where to put the pushrods/horns to attach the lower and upper ailerons so that they move the same distance.

Attaching the connecting rods in the center of the ailerons would give you the most consistent movement.

I'm not concerned about where along the span to put them. What I mean is where in relation to their piviot points should I connect the rod.

On the outside edge of the ailerons.

Here's a pictures I pulled from the Great Planes Ulimate instruction manual. You can see how they do the pushrods here.
