Hey all,
Getting ready to put together a US60 for my second airplane.. Anyway after reading through the manual, it looks like I need a few 12/24 inch servo extensions for the ailerons/flaps.. Anyway, will these servo extensions that come through the wing bottom be what plugs into the receiver? If so, would it be easier to put a few 6 inch extensions into the receiver so that I don't have to plug/unplug directly into the receiver all the time when taking wings on and off? The book doesn't mention this, but I'd think it would be a tight fit to get those wires to the receiver with enough room for you hand in there! Thanks for any suggestions!

Thats how I did my stick. I like to wrap my receiver in foam and tuck it away. I put 6" extensions on all surfaces and used different color ti wraps on the ends of the leads to help keep getting connections right at the field.
Good luck,
Peter

I have the US 40 and do essentially the same thing that Peter (pcinc) does, except that I use colored tape. Wrap the receiver in foam cut a slit and feed the 4 six inch extensions through ... so much easier to hook things up at the field.
By the way, what radio are you using? Do you plan to set-up the mixes like the manual says?

Thanks for the Suggestions.. I certianly appreciate it!
JohnDoe, I have a straight 4 channel radio right now and am planning to upgrade to the Futaba 9C sometime this spring.. I"m planning to build the plane with the quad flap config, and then lock down the flaps until I have the technology to operate them!!

If you are handy with a soldering iron I would cut the servo lead and extend it to the desired length, more dependable and cheaper than extensions.
If you are using the quad flap setup and your TX has enough channels I would not use a y-harness, put each servo on its own channel.
(sorry I just saw you had a 4 channel TX you have to use the y-harness)
I use an extension from the RX to the wing servo wires.
