A little of both. Just keep practicing. To this day I still hit odd parts of the runway. Practice will make you more confident and more able to make your plane do what you want it to do.

Justgotr, been there done that. It's normal what your experiencing. I found that if I bring the plane alot closer then I think it should be it'll be right down the runway. Try it, if your to close then throttle up and go around.

When you are making your base leg to final point the nose of the plane right at you and it will almost always put you over the centerline at touchdown, of course it will not always work due to drift from crosswinds and such, you will eventually learn to overcome that as well but as den1tjb it will boil down to practice, practice and more practice. Stick with it, you will get it!

landing problem?
Sounds just like me when I was learning. It took a couple of months before I started hitting the center of the runway. I wasn't afraid of hitting myself with the plane but I was afraid of hitting someone else. It was all mental for me and I got lucky one day and was at the field with only my flying buddy and we just took off and landed all day. Eventually I got off the grass and onto the runway. What a great feeling. Shortly after that I did my first loop and was actually laughing and giggling out loud. it's great when you progress and each step you make increases the level of fun. Oh yeah and don't feel bad if you hit the grass every so often everybody has interesting landings.

I agree with sedunster. It has been my experience with G2 that I can't get the same "feel" looking at a 15 inch monitor than I can actually being at the field. I think it is similar to actually landing but the perspective screws me up.

landing problem?
I know this is an old post but I wish to respond. I have only one good eye and it has taken me over 400 flights to figure out that "MY" best chance at landing a plane where I want to is to get the plane just above stall speed and fly it with rudder and correcting with aileron to get the plane to the part of the field I want to go to then slowly reduce throttle to get the plane to come down. Now that I have found this, I feel like I have accomplished something BIG
