My Feedback: (1)
Okay back to the point here...I got a Raidentech trainer for $61 shipped..it was (notice the word was) a brick the CG was written down as 5 mm back from the leading edge, I balanced it at the spar and it was ok ,,my .40 la would barely get the thing off the ground and on its first little mishap ,well its in a corner of the room by itself...nitromodels is a sister company trying to get out of the shadow of RTech,,but they have a BAD habit of advertizing a cool plane and then it being "out of stock"...they do had a sub forum in the ARF forum, but they dont seem too attentive to it IMO...Rog

I have to say that last week I ran across a Pitts that looked great and the price was good too. Thought about letting it sink in on me before I bought it (got alot of birds in the hanger), and now I run across this thread and also the one that was linked (within this thread) that was locked.
After all of this reading of NP and the issues at hand I have considered to wait on this purchase http://www.nitroplanes.com/pispbiarfelr.html
I was really interested in this bipe and if anyone can say they have bought it, and it is of good quality, let me know.
I have read all of the posts in several threads about NP and was hoping to get at least a few people with good reports about them.
Has anyone picked up this bipe or have anything good to say? I have almost got the wifes ok to get a bipe LOL

Actually, BgCatfish1, your question about the Pitts ARF would be a good topic in the ARF thread. If you want to know about an ARF, ask about it there.

I have several ARFs from Raidentech. None of them were CMPro, they are all what I call generic. In other words, some manufacturer in China makes some planes and Raidentech imports them by the container load. The first one I put together had very poor covering. It was so bad the covering and adhesive, which also had the color, started separating after I ran the engine a couple times in my driveway. I only flew it a few times before it self destructed in mid air and did a death spiral into the ground. I've yet to assemble the others, but one is clearly a knock off of a World Models plane, but the fit and finish is nowhere near the quality of what WM does. Personally, I'm through with their cheap products, the compromises just aren't worth the hassle.

People, everybody get's different results from mail order. Breakage in most cases should be blamed on the shipping companies. (UPS, FEDEX, etc.) I have ordered three (3) Heli's from Raiden Tech, the shipping cost and the product were just fine with me. I have had no problems with the items and the shipping was super fast. I even called them a talked with customer support to make sure they were all on different frequencies. My expirence was a pleasent one but, everybody's not going to get the same results. We are dealing with humans and it my depend on who's helping that day or who's boxing the items for shipment. Call it human error.

I guess I am one easy going customer because I have dealt with Tower, Nitro, Raiden, AK, Horizon, and a host of others. The only problem I ever had was with GSP and that's because I didn't get a shipping quote (my fault as a consumer) and got 'surprised' when I checked my statement.
I think when something goes wrong with a shipment it is up to me to get it fixed. Here are the rules I use when dealing with people over the phone.
--Offense--
1- Be Nice (this person is not your enemy) This is the person that is going to help you resolve your issue.
2- Be Specific (stick with the topic) Don't go off on a tangent complaining about a host of other things. Your rep will become less than inhospitable as soon as you do.
3- Be prepared to do some leg work. Yes its their fault but they are not going to show up at your door and make everything better for you. (it would be nice if they did).
4- Stick with your phone rep. Don't hang up to get another one. They sit right next to each other and will shut you down. Shopping phone reps rarely works)
5- Never take a no from someone who cannot give you a yes. (its simple ask them if they can do what you need done) If not have them send you to someone who can.
--Defense--
6- Continue to be nice even when thing are not (yet) getting done.
7- Take notes- Name of rep, time you called, what was said etc.. (this can be your friend later on.)
8- Ask for direct statements from the rep in the form of direct questions (Are you going to be able to help?) You can sometimes back them into a corner and if they cannot do what you need go to the next level with what they said..
9- Have the state of mind to employ a little social engineering. (This cannot be explained) it depends on the situation.
Feel free to add to the list..

Got my 337 today from Raidentech. Absolutely happy with the transaction from them. I ordered it on Friday and it arrived to FL from CA on Thursday. I use the free shipping so the plane to my door cost $129. A lot of people have had issues with Raidentech, but this was fast and flawless. The boys in brown even treated the package nicely. Aircraft looked great.

The Pitts 40S is a nice plane...
A few caveats.
This is a lightly built plane. I suggest fuel proofing the interior to add adhesion to the ply formers, etc.
The landing gear mounts MUST have reinforcement or else you'll easily rip them out.
As usual the manual is pretty worthless, and many of the steps are displayed way out of order.
The wing strut "tabs" to which the struts attach are perpendicular to the wings. This is a bit problematic because the struts are installed with a 1" diffential, causing the upper struts to purposely cant out . After installing the struts the tabs should have thin CA applied so that they take their new canted shape w/o breaking.
The covering job on mine was very good with no wrinkles of any sort.
The stars are a bit crude compared to plastic stick on decals, but from a few feet they look great.
The cowl is HUGE for the size of the plane. It completely encloses my T.H. 46 and slimline Pitts Muffler.
The plane plane could probably do very well with a .32 engine, and is overpowered with a .46 2stroker.
As such it lends itself VERY well to electrification. The area behind the firewall has a fairly large space. This area is easily accessible from underneith the plane if you remove the lower covering. There is ample space there to fit 3 3S packs side by side! All you need to do is add a battery retainer and door.... the batteries could then be swapped out w/o taking anything apart. No structure has to be changed, cut or modified to support this.
The plane flies well, but you need some expo even at the low rates as it is VERY responsive. The short tail moment contributes to this.
