Default gee bee

I just ordered a gee bee profile (kit) , it is my first kit build plane. I've fixed a few before and built some arfs. Is this a pretty easy kit to build? I know it is discontinued , but I always loved the gee bee , but everyone at the feild said I'm too green for a 90 or 1.20 size like I wanted so this will have to do for now. Does anyone have any suggestions on this build before I start, tricks or hints? Or even opinions will do.

Scale Gee Bee models can be a handfull, but a profile version should fly in a much more forgiving model. If you've got some stick time logged on a decent low-wing sport plane, you'll probably do fine with it.

Nick,

Is it the Great Planes Gee Bee Profile you ordered? I ask because I have one in th box and have thought about putting it together for a long time. I have a new Magnum 36 that I would think would match really well. Another thing I thought of doing is bashing the tail feathers a little to have the top part of the fin become a balance tab, as well as the outer edges of the horiz stab becoming balance tabs on the elevators. The original classic Gee Bee shape is not compromised, but the control surfaces are enlarged. Then widening the ailerons by 1/2 or even 3/4". I read the instruction book and it looks like a very easy plane to build.

I have the GP GeeBee profile. It has a Magnum 46 on it. It can be squirrely at times. If you have some time on a tail dragger you should be able to handle it.

Building is very simple. However I did end up reinforcing the fuse just a bit near the balance point because I kept on smashing the 1/16" balsa when picking it up.

Hello; I like Gee Bee's I have a Gee Bee foamy, and a Morris hobbies Gee whiz Bee, which is a 50 inch wingspan profile with a Saito 56. I also have a Page Gee Bee (my avatar), Saito 91.

I mostly fly the foamy these days, lots of fun, no mopping up.

Is it one of these?
